BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. The friendly relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation will continue to evolve and develop thanks to our joint efforts both bilaterally and multilaterally, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Fuad Isgandarov said, Trend reports.
He made the statement in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the National Day of the Swiss Confederation.
“I would like to cordially congratulate the Swiss people, our distinguished colleagues in Bern and our reliable partners from all cantons of the country on the occasion of the National Day of the Swiss Confederation.
It is gratifying to see relations really developing between our countries. This year, Azerbaijan and Switzerland celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The level of political dialogue and economic partnership is constantly increasing,” Isgandarov noted.
According to him, from May to July, many important events were organized. The official visit of the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament to the Swiss Confederation, the new round of bilateral political consultations between foreign agencies in Bern, the participation of the Azerbaijani ministerial delegation in the jubilee meeting of the Bretton Woods constituency in Bad Ragaz played an important role in strengthening and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
The Ambassador pointed out that economic cooperation could be illustrated by two examples – Azerbaijan is now one of the guarantors of Switzerland’s energy security while the Swiss Confederation has become one of the main partners of my country in non-energy domains (oil and gas). Cultural communication and interpersonal contacts become an essential part of cooperation.
“I am convinced that the friendly relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation will continue to evolve and develop thanks to our joint efforts both bilaterally and multilaterally. I wish the friendly Swiss people prosperity and success, good health and happiness to every Swiss citizen,” said Isgandarov.
