Georgian Prime Minister and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stress vitality of relations for the region

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov ahead of the latter’s scheduled meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, reports Azernews.

The Azerbaijani minister stressed the strength of friendly relations, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two nations. Bayramov also added that the high-level political dialogue between the two countries and the intensive mutual visits of officials give positive impetus to the further development of bilateral relations.

In turn, Garibashvili expressed his satisfaction with the relevant development of Azerbaijani-Georgian relations. In addition, the parties exchanged views on economic, trade, energy, transport and humanitarian cooperation.

Thanking Georgia for organizing the meeting between Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers, Bayramov described the steps taken to normalize relations during the post-conflict phase.

Garibashvili praised the peace efforts to achieve peace and stressed Georgia’s support for the process.

The parties also discussed other matters of common interest.
