Iran’s new ambassador to Bangladesh, Mansour Chavoshi, said on Sunday that his country was sincere in strengthening economic ties with Bangladesh.
He said Iran is ready to cooperate with Bangladesh in the medical, engineering and energy sectors for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Bangladesh and Iran.
Ambassador Chavoshi discussed these issues during his meeting with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Md Shahriar Alam.
The Minister of State briefed the Ambassador on the impressive economic growth of Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said there are many opportunities for Iran to invest in Bangladesh’s special economic zones.
The ambassador highly appreciates the government of Bangladesh for its continued economic success and social development, the foreign ministry said.
The State Minister said that Bangladesh and Iran enjoy excellent relations in bilateral and multilateral forums.
He said that the peoples of Bangladesh and Iran have a strong historical and cultural bondage. “There are many opportunities to further strengthen economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.”
He called for the exchange of high-level visits and more commitments in the sectors of medicine, food processing, ICT and energy.
